Here's everything new this year at Doors Open Toronto

The city's premier architectural festival, Doors Open Toronto, is returning with access to a huge lineup of buildings and urban spaces you otherwise wouldn't be able to explore.

This year, the free event will feature over 160 buildings, plus tons of tours and talks leaning heavily into Toronto's multicultural fabric ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

This year's theme, "The World in a City," celebrates the different communities and designs that make Toronto such a cultural mosaic. The lineup of first-time participants is also shaping up to be a huge highlight.

New additions to Doors Open Toronto 2026 include:

On top of these new additions, the guided tour program is also expanding by adding ten new neighbourhood tours to the schedule.

Although some popular sites like Massey College will not be participating this year, one of the most anticipated experiences is a special behind-the-scenes tour of the CN Tower to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Other new neigbourhood walking tours include "Building Identity: Toronto's Story in Four Spaces" and "From the Ward to Kensington Market," which people are encouraged to register for in advance online.

Part of the larger province-wide annual festival, Doors Open Ontario, Doors Open Toronto is set to take place on May 23 and 24 at various locations across the city.
