Next month, thousands of Toronto residents are expected to return for Taste of the Junction 2026, a one-day market celebrating the neighbourhood's vibrant food and arts scene.
After abruptly disappearing from the calendar in 2025 amid a big wave of local event cancellatons, the festival announced earlier this year it's back in full swing, thanks to new funding and a refreshed budget.
The Junction BIA is scaling up the 2026 revival, giving people who drop by more opportunities to eat well and shop local. Beyond the curated food and artisan goods, guests can also enjoy live music and a family-friendly play area, so there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Inspired by the upcoming FIFA World Cup, this year's "The World in a City" theme celebrates cultural diversity through food and art, considering the influx of tourists the city is anticipating this summer.
"During Toronto's Host City Summer, when more people are expected to be exploring the city, this festival gives residents, visitors, and fans a chance to discover the Junction as a vibrant west-end destination bursting with flavour, art, and surprises," Carol Jolly, Executive Director, The Junction BIA, says in a recent press release.
To further spotlight the festival's cultural flair, this year organizers are introducing Passageways, a series of five art installations housed within a tent, each paying homage to one of The Junction's five largest cultural communities: Black, Portuguese, Chinese, South Asian, and British.
So, if the buzz is anything to go by, Taste of the Junction 2026 is gearing up to be an event for anyone who has an appetite for all things outdoors, artsy, and flavourful.
The free event's revival this year is made possible by the city's Community Celebration Support Fund, a grant program that supports cultural events in Toronto. This program aligns with the impending 2026 FIFA World Cup, when the city will see an inpouring of tourists for the big games.
Taste of the Junction will run June 27 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m at 385 Pacific Ave.
