If there's one thing that the Labour Day long weekend is synonymous with (other than a sense of summer's end melancholy), it's the Canadian International Air Show (CIAS).
Now celebrating 77 years in the city, the tradition brings a congregation of aviation enthusiasts and the general public to not only the attraction's Exclusive Air Show Zone — a ticketed ground area for spectators to view all the action — but also to other vantage points across the city, to see the jets roaring through the sky in a variety of formations and acrobatic performances.
If you're looking for places to catch the 2026 Canadian International Air Show without having to break the bank, there are plenty of locations across Toronto where you can post up and catch all the action.
Here's where you can watch the 2026 CNE Air Show for free in Toronto:
Remember, the air show happens along the waterfront, so you can always secure a spot close to the water for a great view! Just bring your picnic chairs or mats so you can get comfortable and enjoy the show.
With the event starting at 12 p.m. sharp, you'll want to get to your viewing spot early —between 11:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.— so you can snag the best view.
For the unversed, changes have been announced to this year's lineup of performances as the United States-based USAF-F16 Demonstration Team pulls out of the show days before the event takes place.
The 2026 Canadian International Air Show is scheduled for Sept. 5 to 7 from 12 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. daily.
