More than a decade after it closed its doors, Toronto's legendary Guvernment nightclub is coming back to life for a single night.
At a time when Toronto's nightlife scene all too often falls toward the "let's turn in early" rather than "let's go all night" end of the spectrum, it's easy to forget that there was a time when the city's nightlife scene was, well, quite the scene indeed.
Among fellow iconic spots like Industry, Limelight and Circa, all now defunct, one of the establishments best known for keeping the party going well into the wee hours was The Guvernment.
Helmed by Toronto's own king of nightlife, Charles Khabouth (Ink Entertainment), the enormous club was a partygoer staple for nearly 20 years, with an impressive run spanning 1996 through 2015.
Whether you spent your glory days on the floor at The Guvernment and have been yearning for one last rip ever since, or you grew up hearing tell of the legendary nights there and have always dreamt of experiencing it for yourself, you'll soon get the chance.
Ink Events is reviving — so to speak — The Guvernment for one night this November in honour of what would have been the club's 30th anniversary.
"30 years after it all began, we're bringing a piece of Toronto nightlife history back for one night only," Ink Events writes in the caption of a post announcing the event.
On Nov. 28, the hospitality company's current crown jewel, Rebel Nightclub, will play the role of The Guvernment, and its patrons the scores of partygoers that kept it alive for 18 years.

Details about the DJ lineup for the event have yet to drop, but given that we're time travelling to anywhere between 1996 and 2015 for the night, you can expect some majorly nostalgic tunes.
Tickets to the event aren't on sale yet, so keep an eye on Ink Events' social media to be among the first to score yours.
