Serpentine TorontoSerpentine ain't your typical Yorkville boutique. Rock-and-roll is the theme of the shop; they carry mostly men's items, but a lot of women's pieces as well. Hard-to-find lines include Lazaro, Diet Butcher Slim Skin, Damir Doma, DRKSHDW by Rick Owens, and Guidi boots.

EwanikaEwanika spent 11 years on College Street before recently heading up Bathurst Street to its elegant new digs at Dupont. Her line - which is manufactured here in Toronto - is all about the clean lines and good foundation pieces that will last for a long time, and comes in a subdued palette that allows it to be easily integrated with your wardobe.

So You Think You Can DanceI am a huge So You Think You Can Dance nerd, so I was all over attending the So You Think You Can Dance Canada finale again this season in Toronto. I love being tucked into the screening room, perched on the white leather couches and gorging myself on candy and chips in between clapping and cheering on my favourite competitors.

BoobyliciousAs October rolls on, with it comes the long, pink parade of the usual breast cancer fundraisers. And, this year, I headed to Boobalicious. But this ain't no usual party, thank god.

Black Wool agency head Louie Manzo started the event eight years ago to honour his mother and a friend and has so far raised $50,000 for breast cancer research.

The best part?

Jessica Jensen is Toronto's Handbag Queen

Jessica JensenCanada doesn't have many of its own high-end handbag-makers, but Toronto is lucky to claim Jessica Jensen as one of our own. (I'm particularly fond of my bright-white hobo from last year's spring collection, even if the handles tend to get frighteningly filthy.)

The designer took over Thrush Holmes Empire to show her new wares last week. The collection was filled with the pastel hues and sorbet shades that signal that spring is around the corner (well, after winter, anyway). And, for sensible fashionistas, there were some seasonless black and gray purses aussi.
