Toronto has officially secured multiple spots on one of the world's most prestigious hospitality lists.
This week, Forbes Travel Guide unveiled the 68th edition of its annual 2026 Star Awards, recognizing hundreds of hotels, restaurants, and spas around the world that offer exceptional service and experiences.
Forbes inspectors visited every property, including those in Toronto, in person, posing as everyday guests to analyze everything from hotel rooms to spa treatments and dining experiences.
The list pays special attention to properties offering "exceptional service," which accounts for 70 per cent of each rating. The awards recognize properties in three categories, namely "recommended," "4-star," and 5-star."
Similar to the U.S. News & World Report released earlier this week, which ranked the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto as the best in all of Canada, Forbes' list awarded the luxury property with a five-star rating for both its hotel and in-house spa, making it the only spa in the city to attain the prestigious status.
Here's a look at all of the properties, spas, and restaurants recognized on the list.
Representing the only Toronto hotel in the "recommended section," 1 Hotel Toronto was praised for its sustainable luxury.
Three in-house hotel restaurants were also included in this category: Chef Daniel Boulud's French brasserie, Café Boulud, in the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto; French-inspired restaurant Louix Louis, located on the 31st floor of The St. Regis Toronto; and the Hazelton Hotel's trendy dining room, ONE Restaurant.
This was by far Toronto's most stacked category on the Forbes list, and included appearances from hotels, restaurants, and spas.
Yorkville fixtures Park Hyatt Toronto and its in-house Canadian restaurant, Joni, managed to secure acclaimed 4-star ratings. Located just a stone’s throw away, the Spa by Valmont at The Hazelton Hotel was also recognized in this category.
The Ritz-Carlton Toronto was especially well-represented in this category, with its hotel, in-house Italian restaurant, TOCA, and its award-winning luxury spa, Spa myBlend, all earning 4-star ratings.
To top it all off, innovative Canadian restaurant Canoe and sophisticated French restaurant Scaramouche received four stars as well.
Last but certainly not least, the 5-star category was packed with luxurious heavy-hitters: the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, The Hazelton Hotel, Shangri-La Hotel, The St. Regis Toronto, and the only spa in Toronto in this category, The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel.
