As filming season reaches its peak in Toronto, celebrity sightings are reaching their annual high, and a recent visit from a group of big names to a popular local restaurant is only further proof of that fact.
If you've ever dreamt of seeing a celebrity in the flesh, there are certain spots in Toronto that will yield an almost 100 per cent success rate. If you're hoping to meet a member of the Toronto Blue Jays, for example, you'll want to head to Mapo Korean BBQ. For the Toronto Maple Leafs and, occasionally, Drake, it's all about Sotto Sotto.
One restaurant in the city, however, defies the typical silohs of celebrity, welcoming everyone from NBA All-Stars to actors to Academy Award-winning directors through its doors on the regular. The Entertainment District's Pai is a certified star magnet, and judging its latest crop of star-studded visitors, its status as such isn't waning any time soon.
On Monday, June 29, the restaurant shared a photo of staff snapping a pic with The White Lotus' Patrick Schwarzenegger alongside Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor and her fiancé Cameron Fuller (Drop, The Astronaut).
Patrick isn't the only Schwarzenegger who's made the most of time spent filming in Toronto. While filming Netflix series FUBAR, his father, the incomparable Arnold Schwarzenegger, was regularly spotted riding his bike around the city, visiting local events and dining at popular restaurants.
Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and I, for one, am a fan.
Shwarzenegger and Dynevor are currently in town filming an adaptation of Emily Henry's Beach Read, along with Kevin Bacon, Andie MacDowell, Kristin Davis and Tig Nataro, which is slated to shoot in Toronto and Niagara-on-the-Lake until late July, so there may be more sightings of the pair in store.
