After cranking the heat up in Vancouver, Vancouver Island and Calgary for the past 14 years, Canada's "most celebrated" food festival, Brewery and the Beast, is finally making landfall in Toronto this summer.
As the city careens towards the sunny season, it's nearly impossible not to get excited about the litany of outdoor events that make up the summer social calendar. For me and my fellow foodies, the food festival lineup is particularly thrilling.
And summer 2026 promises to be a particularly tasty one, with much-loved all-inclusive food and beverage festival Brewery and the Beast making its first venture into Toronto this July after spending more than a decade on the west coast, earning its reputation as one of the country's best food festivals.
Toronto has no shortage of food festivals throughout the entire summer season, so what makes this one so special? The lineup, for starters.
Where the average food festival is populated by stands selling lemonade and spiral potatoes (not that I'm knocking lemonade and spiral potatoes), the roster at Brewery and the Beast is comprised of some of Toronto and the GTA's most-celebrated restaurants, including a handful of Michelin-recognized gems.
Taking over Henderson Brewing Co. for one day only on Sunday, July 26, the festival promises an impressive menu of droolworthy bites prepared over live fire paired with beverages from some of the city's leading beverage-makers, from brews to bubbly.
Did I mention that the whole thing is all-you-can-eat-and-drink? That part seems important to mention.
Tickets are available online now, and while $150 a head may seem steep at first, when you consider the fact that the festival is offering what is essentially an infinite-course tasting menu from a selection of the best and brightest culinary talents in Ontario, it almost feels like a steal.
