This holiday train in Ontario serves up festive vibes and even beer

Waterloo Central Railway is gearing up for the festive season with its holiday-themed dayliner and charter trains back in action, a locomotive experience right here in Ontario that offers a little something for everyone.

Waterloo Central Railway, a heritage line that takes passengers on recreational rides spanning Northfield Drive in Waterloo, St. Jacobs Farmers' Market in St. Jacobs, and Elmira, adorns its vintage locomotives and cabooses with lights, bells, and wreaths, bringing some seasonal holiday cheer to these excursions.

The attraction features three types of Christmas Train experiences, each offering a unique festive journey.

If you're looking for a daytime outing with some holiday spirit, the Merry Mission Dayliner might be the one for you. This 60-minute ride offers an interactive scavenger hunt and other fun, festive activities for guests on board.

The Christmas Cheerlight Charter offers a one-hour evening heritage train ride filled with carolling, challenges, and a cozy festive atmosphere.

And for those seeking an adults-only experience — think: sipping on a drink while immersed in fun on-board challenges for added entertainment — Santa's Nightcap is a 19+ evening journey that includes a Locomotive Lager, popcorn, chips, and even some holiday swag.

Guests can choose between two seating options: the Coach Car, featuring traditional four-person seating, or the Lounge Car, an upgraded, more spacious option with upholstered seats for extra comfort.

Tickets range from $30.99 to $75.99, depending on the experience and seating selection, and can be purchased directly from the Waterloo Central Railway's official website.

The event runs from Nov. 15 to Dec. 23, with multiple daily departures available to choose from.

Waterloo Central Railway is located at 50 Isabelle St. in St. Jacobs, Ont.
