The tradition of Rancho's PWYC Weds is temporarily put on hold this week for a special triple-header set from one-man-band Armen at the Bazaar, Montreal post-rock/electro-ambient quintet Ismism and East York's Noisedive (the alter-ego project of Arts & Crafts rockers Still Life Still). WEDNESDAY AUGUST 4 / STORY OF THE YEAR / MOD CLUB / 722 COLLEGE ST / $16.50 / ALL AGES
Story of the Year have come a long way since the release of their breakthrough debut album Page Avenue, releasing a trio of heavy hitting albums that, despite not receiving the commercial success of their debut, continue to satiate the appetite of their steadily devoted fanbase while simultaneously attracting new listeners. They're on the road in support of 2010's The Constant, their second Epitaph release and follow-up to The Black Swan. Houston post-hardcore/rock and roll quartet American Fangs will warm the crowd up.

CONTEST ALERT: Follow BlogTO on Facebook and twitter for your chance to win a pair of guestlist spots for tonight's show and copies of SOTY's two most recent albums (The Black Swan and The Constant ) on CD.

THURSDAY AUGUST 5 / HOLLERADO & THE DARCYS / THE BOAT / 158 AUGUSTA AVE / FREE / 19+
The Untold City are throwing a party at The Boat on Thursday night, featuring live sets from Ottawa's Hollerado, local rockers The Darcys and fellow Torontonians Clothes Make the Man. Entry is free and drinks will be cheap, so make sure to get there early to avoid disappointment. Doors at 9pm.

FRIDAY AUGUST 6 / SUMMERWORKS: THE HIDDEN CAMERAS & MAYLEE TODD / LOWER OSSINGTON THEATRE / 100A OSSINGTON AVE / ALL AGES
The Hidden Cameras play the main stage at the Lower Ossington Theatre for the second night in a row on Friday, while local songstress Maylee Todd entertains the crowd in the upstairs performance room. The gig is part of the Summerworks concert series - check out the full schedule and BlogTO's festival preview.

SATURDAY AUGUST 7 / WOLFE ISLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL / WOLFE ISLAND / $40 / ALL AGES
Looking for an escape from the city for the weekend? Wolfe Island Music Festival returns in 2010, providing an affordable camping and concert experience showcasing some of the best talent Canada has to offer. Saturday's main stage event features performances from The Weakerthans, Shad, Think About Life, Bahamas, Diamond Rings, The Acorn, Memory House, Jim Bryson, Justin Bird Sanctuary
and Flotilla. Check out the line-ups for Friday night's Wolfe Island showcase shows and the full schedule for Saturday here.

SATURDAY AUGUST 7 & SUNDAY AUGUST 8 / ALL CAPS ISLAND FESTIVAL / TORONTO ISLAND / $15 / ALL AGES
Artists from New York, Montreal, Guelph, Halifax and Toronto come together for two days of installations, music, film, BBQ, swimming and bonfires at the Artscape Gibraltar Point arts centre on Toronto island. Check out the event on facebook for details on the full line-up. Day passes are $8 in advance, while a full festival pass will only cost you $15 - both are available now from Soundscapes and Rotate This.

MONDAY AUGUST 9 / BORIS & RUSSIAN CIRCLES / LEE'S PALACE / 529 BLOOR ST W / $16.50 / 19+
Japanese sludge/doom metal trio Boris and Chicago post-rock trio Russian Circles team up for a gig at Lee's on Monday, bringing two ambitious and experimental acts together for what's sure to be an eardrum shattering evening. While you're there, grab some swag from Russian Circles - they recently purchased their second new van in less than a week after their first replacement was destroyed along with a bunch of instruments and equipment. For those unable to attend but still interested in helping them out, they've set up a paypal account to accept donations online.

TUESDAY AUGUST 10 / INTERPOL / KOOL HAUS / 132 QUEENS QUAY E / $31.50 / ALL AGES
In advance of the release of their fourth full-length album (a self-titled effort), NYC post-punk revivalists Interpol have embarked on a brief North American tour before heading to Europe in September to support U2 on their seemingly never-ending 360 tour. Their new line-up (sans original bassist Carlos D) will play the Kool Haus on Tuesday, and surprisingly tickets for the gig are still available to purchase. Athens, GA psych-rock trio Twin Tigers are the lone opening act.
