Toronto Maple Leafs player has a baby on the way

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Brandon Duhaime will soon become the team's newest dad.

Duhaime and his wife Kaylee posted a photo of an ultrasound image to Instagram on Tuesday, announcing that they have a baby boy on the way, due in February.

"Baby boy arriving in February. Thank you God for this blessing," the couple captioned the photo.

Duhaime is one of many fresh faces on the Maple Leafs this year, signing a three-year $7.8-million deal over the offseason after he spent the last two seasons with the Washington Capitals.

He's been a solid fourth-line piece for the Maple Leafs so far, racking up four points in 14 games.

Depending on when the baby is due in February, Duhaime could face an interesting predicament. The 29-year-old hasn't missed a game since the 2023-24 season, and has dressed for 196 straight.

His streak isn't necessarily long compared to Phil Kessel's league record of 1,064 consecutive games, but it is among the top 20 active streaks, and one that could potentially be put on the line for the birth of his first-born child.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have no games the first week of February with the NHL All-Star Break, but have nine games between Feb. 8 and the end of the month.

Given the Ironman streak, we imagine the Duhaimes are crossing their fingers and hoping they welcome their baby boy then.
