Toronto man dresses as bush to sneak into Ronaldo's FIFA World Cup practice

Seeing Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal play in Toronto last week came with a hefty price tag for one fan.

Rather than forking out $3,000 for a single ticket, Toronto-based YouTuber Kishka came up with a much more unorthodox plan to see the 41-year-old megastar in what is likely his final FIFA World Cup — by dressing as a bush.

The streamer put on a ghillie suit and showed up at Portugal's final training session at Centennial Park roughly four hours before Ronaldo and the rest of Portugal's squad were expected to arrive.

After scouting the area, he noticed security had not shown up yet, so he climbed a fence and hid beneath a set of metal bleachers overlooking the west side of the training pitch.

According to his YouTube video, the streamer remained hidden for hours, going undetected by security, police K-9 units, and even members of the media.

Though Kishka was able to get through, he didn't get to see much of Ronaldo.

The 41-year-old striker spent most of the session training inside the gym and only briefly appeared on the field after Portugal wrapped up practice.

That's when Kishka abandoned his hiding spot and sprinted from the bleachers to catch the Portuguese team before they left Centennial Park. Within seconds, officers tackled and arrested him.

The streamer claimed the trespassing charge was dropped, and the police dropped him off at a Little Caesars near the park.

"For one day, I got a front-row seat to watch the best footballer in the world and got arrested by the best police officers in the city," Kishka said in his video.

"I had a view that nobody from the public could ever have. That's what it takes to be the best undercover journalist in history."

Kishka wasn't the only fan to get into trouble while trying to get close to Ronaldo during Portugal's stay in Toronto.

During Thursday's FIFA World Cup match against Croatia, another supporter stormed the field in extra time and nearly reached Ronaldo, who was on the Portugal bench, before being tackled by security.

According to Toronto Police, that fan is facing criminal charges.

Ronaldo and his Portugal teammates left the city on Saturday for Dallas, where they will play Spain on Monday afternoon in the Round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup.
