Caitlin Clark made her first to Canada on Tuesday night.
Playing her first-ever game north of the border on Tuesday night, the WNBA superstar and the Indiana Fever defeated the Toronto Tempo 101-95. She was impressed by the sold-out Scotiabank Arena crowd.
Speaking with ESPN's Holly Rowe after the game, Clark praised the Toronto fans and said she's excited to return in a month when the Tempo hosts the Fever again.
"The fans were great tonight. It's really cool to see how much women's basketball has grown," said Clark.
Caitlin Clark shows love for Toronto/Canada (other than the lack of air conditioning in the arena) 😭 🇨🇦:

“Well, maybe if Canada had air conditioning, that would be helpful. It’s a million degrees in here.” 😭

"It was really fun for my first time in Canada, and certainly excited to come back."
The Iowa native appeared to experience some culture shock.
Speaking with the media pre-game, Clark had an adorable exchange with a Canadian reporter.
"I love your Canadian accent, that's awesome," Clark responded to a reporter's question.
She then flipped the question back to the room, asking the media if they thought she had an accent.
The reporters all simultaneously said yes.
Despite only being in Toronto for two days, Clark fully immersed herself in Canadian culture. She said she visited a Toronto steakhouse with her teammates and even tried several Canadian delicacies, like Coffee Crisp and ginger beer, on TikTok.
Though she wasn't a fan of ketchup chips.
"I'm super excited to be here, this is my first time in Canada in general," said Clark. "It's been cool to be here and experience their culture and be in Toronto and experience the city... I've travelled internationally and played in a lot of difference places, and I think it's really fun to see different parts of the world."
The sold-out Scotiabank Arena crowd of 19,800 watched the 24-year-old basketball star put up 24 points in 33 minutes as the Fever handed the Tempo their 11th consecutive loss.
Clark and company will be back in Toronto on Sept. 18 to take on the Tempo at Coca-Cola Coliseum.
Who knows? Maybe she'll have acquired a taste for ketchup chips by then.
