5 Toronto things you can get for the cost of Portugal-Croatia tickets

Toronto is hosting one of the biggest FIFA World Cup matches of the tournament on Thursday, but even getting a single ticket will likely come at a high cost.

As of publication, the cheapest resale ticket, according to TicketData.com, for the Round of 32 showdown between European soccer giants Portugal and Croatia is around $2,300.

To put that into perspective, here are five very Toronto ways you could spend the same amount of money instead.

Three-hour Double-Decker Yacht rental on Lake Ontario

What sounds better? Spending three hours on temporary metal bleachers, or three hours cruising Lake Ontario on a double-decker yacht with 12 of your closest friends?

For roughly the price of a Portugal-Croatia ticket, you can charter a private yacht from Toronto Yachts that comes complete with servers, a Bluetooth sound system and lots of room to watch the match on the water.

Seven months of Osmow's shawarma wraps

If you're reading this and hungry, we're sorry. Instead of dropping more than two grand on one soccer match, you could eat an Osmow's shawarma wrap every day for more than 200 days straight.

It's a good thing there are 16 locations across the Toronto area, plus it's Cyle Larin-approved.

Do the CN Tower EdgeWalk 10 times

If you think the view from Row 39 of Toronto Stadium's temporary north stand is worth it, wait until you discover that you can do the CN Tower EdgeWalk ten times for the same price.

Plus, it's guaranteed you will still experience those same nerves you would feel at Toronto Stadium as well. Just higher.

Two years of Canada's Wonderland access with all the perks

For about the same price as a July 2nd ticket, you could buy a two-year Canada's Wonderland membership with an Ultimate Fast Lane pass and a two-meal dining plan.

That's two years of skipping the lines all summer long while never having to worry about what's for lunch. That's all the Festive Funnel cakes you desire.

What can go wrong?

Almost 700 trips on the TTC

Whether you love or hate public transit, $2,300 would sure go a long way on the TTC.

At $3.30 per ride, that's nearly 700 trips across the city, and maybe even a few round-trips to the Toronto Zoo.

You might want to put your PRESTO in a secure place, though.
