Blue Jays' Dylan Cease just surprised staff at Toronto art supply store
He's one of the most interesting men in all of baseball.
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Dylan Cease hasn't just earned the respect of fans due to his talent on the mound, but also because of his inquisitive nature off of it.
Specifically, he has an affinity for painting, something that has become known to Jays fans all season long.
Cease has been making Toronto-specific paintings, including one that was auctioned off for $16,000 in support of Jays Care.
His artistic endeavors certainly haven't slowed down, as the 30-year-old was recently spotted at a Toronto art supply store.
Cease was spotted at Above Ground Art Supplies, signing autographs and taking pictures with employees.
According to the store's post, he's a frequent customer. Cease has crafted at least four Toronto-themed pieces of art, three of which he's posted on Instagram, and another that's hanging in John Schneider's office.
He also posted another piece of art recently, subtly teasing fans who partake in sports betting.
What makes the Cease experience enjoyable is the fact that he combines a suave attitude and fun hobbies with being one of baseball's most dominant pitchers.
The Milton, Georgia native ranks second in the MLB with 191 strikeouts this season. He's fourth among pitchers with an ERA of 2.40. Batters have managed a measly .182 average against him this season, making Cease the most effective pitcher in that department as well.
While lots hasn't gone right for the Jays this season, at least their massive bet on Cease has paid dividends.
