It's collaboration time! Last week, H&M announced they will be teaming up with Vogue Japan Fashion Director Anna Della Russo on a line of accessories coming to a store near you this fall. In the fast-fashion giant's first collaboration with a non-designer, Della Russo will be drawing on her popular fashion prowess to inspire a collection of clutches, sunglasses, chunky baubles and shoes in turquoise, rose gold and tangerine. The line will launch in 140 stores worldwide on October 4th. Check out her video discussing the collection here.
Aussie-inspired pop-up boutique Fitzroy has found a new permanent home! Last week the girls behind the affordable, easy and effortless clothing collection announced their permanent move to BYOB (they've been staging a pop-up shop there for several months). Fitzroy Boutique will carry difficult to find lines like Bardot, Ladakh, Fieldguided and Whitney Eve.
TFI (Toronto Fashion Incubator) celebrated its 25th anniversary last week with their annual gala. Edmonton-native Sid Neigum stole the show by picking up the $25,000 award donated by Suzanne Rogers at the New Labels show for his minimalist (mainly black) unisex collection. Past winners have included Diepo, Joeffer Caoc, David Dixon and Juma.
Last Friday, Sears announced it will be closing various locations across the country with rumours it is making room for U.S. mega chain Nordstrom. In similar news, HBC has been in talks with Bloomingdale's, another U.S. chain, about partnering and setting up retail locations within existing HBC chains. Soon weekend forays to Buffalo, N.Y. will be null.
EVENTS/PARTIES
On Wednesday May 9th, Holt Renfrew will be hosting a party for Bruno Frisoni, the Creative Director for iconic shoe brand Roger Vivier. The party coincides with the opening of the new Roger Vivier exhibition at the Bata Shoe Museum entitled "Roger Vivier: Process to Perfection" which runs from May 9th to April 7th, 2013.
Keep up with the Kardashians by joining Kim Kardashian at the Bay on May 10th. The reality starlet will be in town to promote her Belle Noel jewellery line between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. (such a short window) and meeting with customers who spend $50 or more on the collection.
Grab your bathers and head to the beach. On May 12th, indie fashion mag Worn Fashion Journal will be throwing a beach party to celebrate the release of their 14th issue. Head to the Dovercourt House at 9pm to "roll your cuffs, spaghetti your straps, and drop your socks." Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door and include the new issue of the magazine.
The Bay's high-profile party season is kicking off again. After splashy guest appearances by the likes of Proenza Schouler and Thakoon last year, the Bay announced that they will be hosting an intimate gathering in honour of the Rodarte sisters, Kate and Laura Mulleavy May 23rd in The Room. Don't get your tutu in a twist if you can't score an invite, as a public appearance is also in the works.

Yorkville hot spot Hair on the Avenue is partnering with Rac Boutique for a pop-up shop. For two days (May 11th and 12th) the salon will be stocking closet staple Kain T-Shirts in token black and white as well as summer brights. T-Shirt's will each sell for $100.
