toronto bakery cafe cinnamon roll

People in Toronto are losing it over the cinnamon rolls at this bakery

A Toronto bakery is redefining the meaning of sweet treats by smothering them in even sweeter toppings, and the city's residents can't get enough.

A good cinnamon bun needs no additions; it's creamy, the dough is spongy, and it's lucky enough to have become a culprit of what is, in my opinion, one of this world's best spices: cinnamon.

I am not ashamed to say that I am happy to have been proven wrong about the 'needing no additions' thing, because Wiki Cafe loads them up with frosting and toppings, and it works.

Wiki Cafe is a Ukrainian-owned cafe and bakery with locations in Bloor West Village and Etobicoke that has recently had people obsessing over its decked-out cinnamon rolls. Four flavours in particular have been sending the internet into a frenzy, wanting to get their hands on them.

Pistachio, sour cherry, caramel pecan and Biscoff cinnamon rolls that look like a creation the Gingerbread Witch from Hansel & Gretel would have used to lure the children have been the bakery's main claims to fame, so hypnotically beautiful and sweet that your eyes and stomach might just get placed under a spell.

The cinnamon rolls are smothered in flavoured icing and finished off with a layer of toppings, like pistachio crumbs, fruit, or an entire Biscoff cookie crumbled on top, and are said by the bakery's many fans to be gooey, packed with flavour, and the perfect afternoon treat.

Best enjoyed warmed up, in front of a fireplace, a glass of milk on the side, and on your 15th episode of Gilmore Girls; the only drawback is that you'll almost certainly need a handful of napkins on deck.

Wiki Cafe is located at 2114 Bloor Street West and 88 Palace Pier Court, Etobicoke.
