Toronto pub with a unique twist closes permanently after just three months

It was only two months ago that blogTO first reported on the opening of a new Toronto British-Indian sports bar. Now it's permanently closed.

Tap N Tandoor originally opened its doors in the Junction in early August, bringing a unique flair to the neighbourhood with British and Indian cuisines mingling in pub-style fare.

The pub was co-owners Tarun and Noni Verma's first independent project. After many years in the culinary industry, they felt it was time to step out on their own, and Tap N Tandoor was born.

What they created was nothing short of exciting: tandoori nachos, curries, and flavours of wings you've never seen on a menu before.

One day, not at all long after the restaurant opened, it was all gone.

Instagram account @spottedjunction broke the news of the closure with a post on Oct. 20 with the caption "Well, that didn't last long."

The account also noted that the business is now listed for $188k — which has since dropped drastically to $89k and then back up to $90k — on realtor.ca, and the restaurant's Google page, bearing the bright red "permanently closed" banner.

It all feels a bit mysterious, and the lack of knowing leaves many questions for those who enjoyed the restaurant in all its short-lived glory.

blogTO reached out to Tap N Tandoor for comment on the closures, but did not receive a response. Tap N Tandoor was located at 2865 Dundas St. W.
