A viral New York City-based pizza chain is gearing up to open its second Toronto location years after it arrived in the city.
It's been three years since New York's Prince Street Pizza touched down in Toronto, but its cachet among pie lovers remains nearly as strong as it was on day one.
The initial Toronto location at The Well drew in droves of local foodies eager to score one of the iconic square-shaped slices the restaurant has been serving up since its founding in 2012.
Given Toronto's affinity for all things new, it would be easy to assume that the excitement surrounding Prince Street's arrival would have worn off at some point in its three-year stint in the city, but it simply hasn't: on any given day, you're likely to encounter the very same lines that drew criticism early in its time here.
Now, at long last, the chain is finally gearing up to open a second location in the city, giving a whole new neighbourhood the opportunity to decide for themselves once and for all whether Prince Street Pizza is worth the hype — and worth the wait in line.
Based on signage that recently went up at the address, Prince Street Pizza will next set up shop in the Yonge and Eglinton area, taking over the space Cibo Wine Bar occupied for a decade before closing in early 2025.
There's no word yet on when the location will open, as Prince Street Pizza has yet to formally announce the new location, but signage promises it's "coming soon."
Prince Street Pizza will be located at 2472 Yonge St.
