Mike Myers did a dance number on TTC and nobody seemed to notice
It seemed like business as usual for TTC commuters, even as Canadian legend, actor and comedian Mike Myers pranced around the subway station concourse while a busker played the keyboard.
The Wayne's World (1992) actor and Scarborough native posted a video on Instagram of himself dancing in a TTC Line 2 - Bloor Danforth subway station with the text "kinda chic to dance in the subway," jumping in on the latest "kinda chic" trend that's taken social media by storm.
Aside from his makeshift ballet performance — and the unmissable George Harrison T-shirt — it's interesting to note that passersby barely seem to notice that the dancing man is none other than Hollywood royalty.
It would be fair to assume that the public would stampede through the station to catch a glimpse of the movie star, especially in a city where people will line up for hours just for a cup of gelato, but it seems most people just carried on as usual.
Commuters walk by, glance at the dancer, and seem not to recognize who the performer is, and Myers has no qualms about it. He simply puts on the show, undisturbed.
Fans have poured into the comment section since the video went live, loving the actor's impromptu behaviour.
"I swear he's a comedic genius, simple and hilarious. Love this!" somebody wrote.
The TTC even chimed in, writing, "Whatever this is, we approve."
Another commenter said, "Mike in the wild would not be on anyone's bingo card but an absolute life changer if you saw him."
The TTC is the latest Toronto destination visited by the Austin Powers star. The comedian has also been seen at local restaurants and other venues around town on his frequent visits to the city.
