Swanky Toronto hotel was just named one of the best in Canada

If you're searching for where to stay in Toronto or the best luxury hotel in the city, one standout property has just earned major recognition.

Travel + Leisure released its "World's Best Awards" for 2026, and one Toronto hotel was ranked among the top ten best hotels in Canada.

Each year, the publication asks readers to voice their opinions on experiences at the top hotels, cities, islands, cruises and more. The list includes specific rankings by country, with a separate roundup dedicated to hotels in Canada.

A majority of the hotels ranked on the list hail from Quebec and British Columbia, including the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, B.C., which was crowned the winner after earning a score of 96.08/100.

The five-star Four Seasons Hotel Toronto landed in 9th place with a total score of 89.05.

The ranking included multiple wins for the Four Seasons brand, with its Montreal property coming in 7th place with a score of 91.16. 

The glamorous Yorkville hotel is a prime spot for star sightings, especially during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September, when many A-list celebrities visit the city.

Did you know that the first-ever Four Seasons hotel was in Toronto? Back in 1961, the brand opened a modest motor hotel at Jarvis and Carlton, laying the groundwork for what would become a global luxury hotel empire.

The Four Seasons didn't open its Yorkville location until 1978, which has since been converted into a condo tower known as Residences of Yorkville Plaza. The property moved into more modern digs in 2012 and remains one of Toronto's most iconic accommodations.

Over the years, it has earned countless accolades and continues to rank among the best hotels in Canada and the world. Earlier in 2026, for instance, U.S. News & World Report named it the best hotel in Canada for a second year in a row.
