Ontario Costco locations now sell NHL tickets

You can find all sorts of unexpected goodies on a trip to Costco, but NHL tickets probably weren't on your wholesale shopping bingo card.

While scoring Maple Leafs tickets remains a tooth-and-nail fight, Ontario's other NHL team has never seen the demand that defines the NHL ticket market in Toronto.

Although you probably won't find Ottawa Senators tickets going for exorbitant markup rates on ticket resale sites, you can now buy them at…Costco?

Costco announced earlier this month that it has begun selling Ottawa Senators tickets on its website as well as at Costco warehouse locations across Ontario and Quebec.

The Costco warehouses in Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Gloucester, Gatineau, and Kingston now function as unofficial Ottawa Senators box offices, and the deal they are offering is actually pretty sweet.

The NHL ticket gift cards being sold at Costco feature a pair of lower-bowl seats at the Canadian Tire Centre, and come with included parking passes for just $249.99, or about $125 per ticket.

For comparison, single lower-bowl tickets to see the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena start at around $200 for obstructed seating, and regularly sell for in excess of $500 per seat.

Also, you can't buy them at a Costco.
