The Toronto Raptors made a big signing over the Thanksgiving long weekend.
Literally.
The Raptors signed 7-foot-5, 235-pound centre Jamarion Sharp.
The 25-year-old Kentucky native is tall, even by NBA standards. Sharp is the tallest player in Raptors franchise history and ranks among the tallest in league history. He's so tall that he is also listed among the tallest people in the world, period.
Only five players in NBA history stood taller than Sharp. Gheorghe Muresan and the late Manute Bol were each 7-foot-7, while Yao Ming, Tacko Fall, and Shawn Bradley were each listed at 7-foot-6.
The tallest player to previously play for the Raptors is Aleksandar Radojevic, at 7-foot-3.
Sharp, who has yet to play an NBA game, joins the Raptors as the reigning NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 7.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.1 blocks, and 25.1 minutes in 39 games with Texas last season.
The Raptors also waived guard Chucky Hepburn, who left Saturday's game in Vancouver with an injury.
