13 Toronto Maple Leafs games are moving behind a paywall this season

With Toronto Maple Leafs hockey just around the corner, Rogers Sportsnet has unveiled its broadcast schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 season.

Fans will notice some subtle changes to the broadcast schedule this season, with Hockey Night in Canada out of the picture and Saturday Night Hockey in. The new Saturday night broadcast will feature a doubleheader of Canadian teams every week.

However, the biggest change to Sportsnet's Maple Leafs broadcasts will come on Monday nights.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have 14 games on Monday this 2026-27 season, and 13 will be behind a streaming paywall, meaning they won't be accessible through a TV provider and will be available only on Sportsnet+.

Not sure if this was known, but Monday Night Hockey is Canada will remain behind a paywall, this time with Sportsnet+.

The only Monday game of the regular season for Toronto that won't be behind a paywall will be the Dec. 21 afternoon game between the Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals.

Sportsnet said fans who currently subscribe through a TV provider can access Monday Night Hockey by upgrading to Sportsnet+ for $12.99/month.

When you add in seven months of NHL hockey (and tax), that's a cool $100-plus it'll cost, in addition to a TV subscription, to watch Monday night Toronto Maple Leafs games this season.

If you don't have a TV provider and stream your sports, the cost to watch these Toronto Maple Leafs games through a Sportsnet+ subscription will be $29.99/month or $249.99/year.

Toronto has the most Monday Night Hockey games behind this new paywall, with four more than the next-closest NHL team.

Monday Night Hockey will stream exclusively on Sportsnet+, hosted by David Amber alongside former NHL players turned analysts Luke Gazdic and Justin Williams.

The add-on package for TV subscribers will be available for purchase beginning Sept. 15.

Toronto's first paywalled Monday Night Hockey game of the season will be against the San Jose Sharks on Oct. 19, followed by a game against the Calgary Flames the following week.
