Kevin Gausman loved being a member of the Toronto Blue Jays.
The 35-year-old stated his adoration for the city countless times over the five years he was in Toronto, and even made sure to stick up for it when others had less positive things to say.
His trade to the Chicago Cubs on Sunday wasn't unexpected, but it still left many people feeling emotional.
On Tuesday, Gausman shared one more message directed at Blue Jays fans.
"Toronto," Gausman began. "So many great memories with amazing people that I will cherish forever! Getting to represent an entire country was truly an honour that I never took for granted! Love you all!"

Blue Jays fans have flooded Gausman's replies with well wishes.
"We love and miss you so much already Gausy," said one fan. "One of the best to ever wear the uniform. Good luck with the Cubs."
"We are going to miss you so much, praying you come back in the offseason," added another.
We'll see if that last part comes to fruition. Until then, Gausman can look forward to playing playoff baseball again. The Cubs have an impressive roster capable of making some noise in the postseason, as they currently sit second in the NL Central with a 64-49 record.
The Blue Jays, on the other hand, remain dead last in the AL East in what's been a disaster of a season.
