Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal had plenty to celebrate on Thursday night after a massive win against Croatia at Toronto Stadium, but they saved the party for later.
Hundreds of Portuguese supporters gathered outside the Delta Toronto Hotel, cheering and singing in celebration of the team's win, only to eventually get a visit from Portugal's superstar.
Around 11 p.m., Ronaldo and his Portugal teammates came out on a balcony that overlooked Bremner Blvd. for several minutes to celebrate with the large crowd of supporters.

While most Portuguese players are probably familiar with the limelight and pandemonium that surrounds arguably the world's most famous athlete, a video shared by the team on social media shows several players recording the crowd and taking in the spectacle.
It was just a wholesome moment that seemed to bring joy to Ronaldo and the Portuguese team.
The 41-year-old striker shared the video of himself pumping his fists and screaming "Vamos" to the crowd on his social media page on Friday, writing "Toronto (with a heart emoji)."
Thursday's FIFA World Cup match marked the second time Ronaldo has played in Canada during his 24-year professional career.
He first came to Toronto in August 2009 while playing for the Spanish club Real Madrid for an international club friendly between his team and Toronto FC. Ronaldo would score a goal in that 5-1 win for Madrid.
Nearly 17 years later, he found the scoresheet again, but this time in a crucial do-or-die match.
Ronaldo's family has also been making the most of their visit to Canada. His mother and sister have been spotted dining at several Toronto restaurants and even tried out the new flying theatre attraction at Niagara Falls.
Portugal and Ronaldo will leave town on Friday and head to Dallas to take on Spain in the Round of 16 on July 6.
