Ronaldo's family just dined at this popular Toronto Portuguese spot

Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal are in town for their biggest game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and Ronaldo's family is already treating the city like home.

On Tuesday, Ronaldo's mother, Maria Dolores, and sister, Katia Aveiro, took a helicopter tour of Niagara Falls, then ended the day near Toronto's Little Portugal neighbourhood at Via Norte Restaurant.

"It was a true honour to welcome Dolores & Katia Aveiro to dine with us," the restaurant posted on Instagram.

"Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Thank you for your visit, it was a pleasure to host you!"

The restaurant, located on the northeast corner of College St. and Dovercourt Rd, is known as one of the best places for traditional Portuguese fare, and was even voted by blogTO readers as one of the Best Portuguese Restaurants in Toronto.

On Wednesday, Ronaldo's family (without Cristiano) spent more time exploring popular Toronto hotspots, like the Eaton Centre, Sankofa Square and Yonge Street, before settling in to watch the Canada Day fireworks from their hotel room.

Ronaldo and Portugal will play Croatia in a highly anticipated knockout stage match on Thursday night at Toronto Stadium.

According to TicketData.com, the get-in price for the game is now well over $2,500 and has risen six per cent just overnight.

If Portugal loses, it could be the final FIFA World Cup game for the 41-year-old striker, who will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the greatest to ever play the game.
