Trey Yesavage and Kazuma Okamoto are stars on this Toronto Blue Jays team, but that won't get them out of an annual rookie tradition.
It doesn't appear that any type of accolade will let Blue Jays rookies off the hook from the team's annual Chicago coffee run. It has become standard for the team to send their rookies off in full uniform into the Chicago streets to grab some coffee for the rest of the team.
The Blue Jays' rookies were grabbing Starbucks for their teammates down at Wrigley Field on Saturday. They stood out like a sore thumb in the streets, as they were donning their full grey road uniforms while carrying the coffee back to the ballpark.
It was quite a sight to see all these MLB players grabbing coffee in the busy streets.
The morning doesn't stop once the #Cubs arrive! The #BlueJays50 rookies took the traditional Rookie Coffee Run on Saturday dressed in their full uniforms.

The tradition dates back to the LA Dodgers sending outfielder Joc Pederson to the Starbucks in September of 2014 pic.twitter.com/y0oqB4OQk3
Alongside Yesavage and Okamato were Yohendrick Piñango, Spencer Miles, and Charles McAdoo.
The Chicago coffee run tradition has been around for a few years now and is considered a rite of passage for Blue Jays rookies. They seem to do it on their first road series against the Cubs.

It seemed like the pre-game coffee did the trick for the Blue Jays, as they rallied from a 5-0 deficit to win 8-6 over the Cubs. One of the rookies involved in the coffee run, Okamoto, hit a game-winning three-run home run in the eighth inning to seal the victory.
Unfortunately, the Jays didn't get a chance to continue that momentum into Sunday, as their series finale against the Cubs was rained out and rescheduled for August 6.

Toronto is fighting to remain a wildcard team this season after having suffered an injury-riddled start to the year. The Jays are currently sitting in third place in the AL East with a 38-39 record, and are nine games back of the division-leading New York Yankees.
If they want to get back in the AL East conversation, they'll need rookies like Yesavage and Okamoto to remain at the top of their game.
