People are lining up forever for Canada's Wonderland ride that's been around decades
One of Canada's Wonderland's oldest roller coasters is suddenly drawing some of the longest lines in the park, all thanks to a recent makeover.
Canada's Wonderland's newly reimagined The DareDeviler is quickly becoming one of the hottest attractions at the park this summer, with guests reportedly waiting over an hour for a chance to ride the revamped coaster.
A Monday, Aug, 3 Instagram post from Amusement Insiders shows the lengthy queue stretching far beyond the ride's entrance and looping all the way back toward the entrance area.
Comments have since poured in, with people confirming the lengthy wait times and one park-goer even comparing them to another popular attraction at the park. "This 'new' ride is pulling Alpen Fury wait times, and that's crazy," they wrote.
While the roller coaster may feel brand new, the ride itself has been around for decades. Originally opening as Top Gun and debuting as the park's first-ever inverted coaster in 1995, it was later renamed Flight Deck; the coaster became popular for its inversions and aviation theme.
Now, the inverted roller coaster, which opened on July 23, has been given a fresh identity as The DareDeviler for the 2026 season.
Along with the new name, the attraction received brand-new trains and restraints designed to provide a smoother, more comfortable ride.
And the upgrades appear to be paying off.
"Guest feedback on The DareDeviler has been very positive – particularly from those who were familiar with the ride previously, as Flight Deck or Top Gun," Grace Peacock, spokesperson for Canada's Wonderland, tells blogTO.
"The new trains and restraints offer a comfortable and immersive ride experience. It's like a completely different roller coaster. We're excited to see guests rediscovering it!"
The amusement park is located at 1 Canada's Wonderland Dr., in Vaughan, Ont.
