Scottie Barnes has a new endorsement deal and it's perfect for the Toronto Raptors star

Scottie Barnes has a fitting new endorsement deal.

It did seem like something was up after the Toronto Raptors star posted a video to social media last week where he claimed to be changing his name from "Scottie" to "Scotties."

It turns out that was part of a new endorsement deal with Canadian facial tissue brand Scotties.

"Who better to team up with Scotties than me?” said Barnes in a press release.

It's the latest endorsement deal for Barnes, who has also partnered with Subway and Google in the past few years for various campaigns. The Florida native has also been involved with Sony's PlayStation Playmakers campaign.

Barnes and the Raptors have found a way to be among the hottest teams in the NBA to start the season. Despite coming into the year with low expectations, Toronto now sits third in the Eastern Conference with a 13-6 record and is into the quarterfinals of the in-season NBA Cup.

Scottie has been a big reason for that success, sitting second on the team in average points (19.9), rebounds (8.0), and assists (5.0).
