What Davis Schneider said about his dad's viral Toronto Blue Jays home run reaction
Toronto Blue Jays' Davis Schneider wasn't holding back the chirps after his dad captured video of his first-ever World Series home run from the Dodger Stadium stands.
It was one of the most viral moments from the Blue Jays' massive 6-1 Game 5 victory over the LA Dodgers to put them one win away from a World Series title. Schneider set the tone early for Toronto, jumping on the first pitch of the game and smashing it over the left-field fence.
Schneider was pumped up for the moment, but maybe not as much as his dad, Steve, was, as he was able to make it into the stadium to watch his son hit the home run. Even better, he got the whole thing on video with his Meta glasses.
The video was as wholesome as it gets.
Schneider was asked after the game if he had seen the video and what he thought of his dad's reaction. You could tell that having his family see that moment in person meant a lot to the 26-year-old, but he wasn't gonna pass up an opportunity to roast his dad for wearing Meta glasses to get the shot.
"His Meta glasses are a little bit… they're kinda dumb. I don't know why he wears them all the time," Schneider said with a smile. "Those were the glasses he was wearing, but it's great to have my family out here and get to experience the World Series.
"They're from a small town in New Jersey, and they deserve it just as much as me. Couldn't be more grateful for them to be here."

Meta glasses, if you didn't know, are a piece of wearable technology that look like regular sunglasses, but allow wearers to access a variety of features, including taking video from the point of view of the person wearing them. Evidently, Schneider is not a fan of the look of them, while his dad is.
According to Steve, those glasses were actually a Father's Day gift from one of his four kids, though he didn't specify which one.

Even with his opinion of the glasses, Schneider would have to admit that having a special moment like that caught on video from the perspective of his dad and the rest of his family will be something he cherishes for a very long time.
The only thing more special than that would be winning the World Series and having his family storm onto the Rogers Centre field.
