Millennial icon Lindsay Lohan is back in Toronto, and the Freaky Friday star has been making the most of her time in the city while filming her latest movie.
The 40-year-old actress is currently in the GTA shooting her upcoming Netflix rom-com Return to You, which also stars Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians). The film, which is slated for release sometime next year, is directed by Mark Waters, who previously worked with Lohan on both Freaky Friday and Mean Girls.
The film, which is set in 2008, follows a lonely attorney (portrayed by Lohan) who unexpectedly receives an emotional DVD for a dying woman addressed to her husband. Armed only with clues on the disc, the lawyer sets out to find the woman's spouse.
Last week, Lohan was spotted filming scenes for the movie around the GTA, sporting sleek, professional-looking outfits that befit her character as a lawyer. Between scenes, the actress has also been enjoying some family time while in town.
Just a few days ago, Lohan shared a series of sweet photos of her family visiting the Toronto Zoo. When a fan responded to the photos, the star replied, "I would have said hi! We love Toronto Zoo! It's so beautiful!"
Lohan is certainly no stranger to Toronto — the actress famously filmed much of the 2004 cult classic Mean Girls in the city, with iconic scenes filmed at Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, Malvern College Institute, U of T's Convocation Hall, and CF Sherway Gardens.
With Lohan back for another movie, we might have a few more chances to spot the star in the most unexpected places (like the zoo).
Netflix hasn't announced the exact release date for Return to You, although the film is expected to premiere in 2027.
