blue jays restaurants toronto

These restaurants are where the Toronto Blue Jays eat when they're off-duty

Toronto's beloved Blue Jays may be busy on the road to a potential World Series, but when they're not out raking in wins on the diamond, they can often be found dining at local restaurants.

Sports superstars have to eat, too, and the Toronto Blue Jays, on top of being the current object of all of the city's sports-related hopes and dreams, are evidently major fans of the local food scene.

While restaurants all over the city are due to get a welcome boost in business as the postseason rages on through October, the players themselves have a selection of favourites where they, personally, like to indulge in a post-win meal when they're on home turf.

The Jays could potentially play their next home game on Friday should the New York Yankees recover from their ALDS deficit, so if you want to eat like the team, here's where you should be heading. Or, you could always attempt Real Sports' appalling new No-No Challenge, instead.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Honorary Toronto royalty to boot, the Dominican-Canadian star first baseman has played for the team since 2019 and has become something of a local superhero during his lengthy stint, thanks to his serious skills on the diamond, but also his outspoken passion for the city.

In a video posted to the players' Instagram this past summer, Guerrero Jr. shared his top restaurant picks for a day off in Toronto, which, in true Toronto fashion, ran the gamut from food trucks to celebrity chef-led restaurants.

If you want to eat like Vladdy on a casual day (or, perhaps, run into him on your next meal out), head to Poutine Hub, with locations in both Kensington Market and Corktown, or seek out the El Camion La Fritanga food truck for your fill of Dominican eats.

For a more formal meal, Guerrero Jr. is a fan of Matty Matheson's Prime Seafood Palace on Queen West, as well as 1 Hotel's Casa Madera.

George Springer

Whether or not his bat is making contact against Yankees pitchers, this Jay's outfielder has some recommendations that hit it out of the park, food-wise, every time.

In the spring of 2024, the player told blogTO that, despite being a "big Uber Eats guy," he's a big fan of the legendary Barberian's Steakhouse, which teammate Addison Barger has also expressed his love for in the past.

It seems like the Blue Jays — or, this one, at least — are intent on meeting their protein goals, because Springer also shared that he's a fan of the opulent Harbour 60 Steakhouse.

Bo Bichette

This Brazilian-American shortstop has been a star player on the team ever since he first joined in 2019, which has given him plenty of time to keep his finger on the pulse of the city's food scene.

In an August 2025 interview with CBC, the player shared his love for King West's Animl Steakhouse. Is anyone else sensing a theme here?

The jury's out on whether Bichette has ever tried the steakhouse's hedonistic $1000 Surf and Turf platter, but, hey, if the Jays actually manage to win the World Series, I can't think of a better occasion for it.

Nursing an injury that has kept him off the postseason roster thus far, he may have a bit more time to explore local dining spots.

Team favourites

From home base to the outfield, there's one Toronto restaurant that seems to be a resounding favourite that comes up time and time again, and it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

In the spring of 2024, Kevin Gausman and Davis Schneider, along with former Blue Jays Daniel Vogelbach and Tim Mayza, all told Dished Toronto that the South Core's Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse was a favourite.

Join the club, Blue Jays. The steakhouse has been named one of the best steakhouses in the world for two years running, so it's valid for the team's players to have quite the love affair with it, and, after an extensive renovation, it's more stylish than ever.

Hey, maybe some of Jacobs' winning energy will rub off on the team this year.
