Canada's largest taco festival is coming to Toronto

Canada's preeminent beer and taco festival — the aptly-named I Heart Beer and Taco Festival — is rolling through Toronto this month.

You may not be able to do anything about the frigid temperatures around the city this time of year, but you will be able to crank up the heat (on the inside) at the second annual Toronto leg of the I Heart Beer and Taco tour on Feb. 15.

Only making its Big Smoke debut in 2024, the festival is a comprehensive celebration of what could very easily be described as two of life's purest joys: you guessed it, beer and tacos.

Taking over the Enercare Centre for a day of tasty bites and beverages, the festival is set to feature brews from over 20 local breweries, including Toronto's own Left Field Brewery, Black Lab Brewing and Steadfast Brewing.

Not to be outdone, the taco offerings are equally impressive, with 19 vendors from across Ontario including St. Catharines' Fiesta Empanada, the El Milagro food truck, Waterloo's Los Rolling Tacos and Mona's Taqueria from Ottawa.

There's plenty to do at the festival beyond just filling your gullet, though.

You'll also be able to play a variety of board, video and arcade games, compete in a beer pong competition, satisfy your sweet tooth at a dessert booth from Bitten on Locke and hit the floor at a dance party that's running from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday night.

Tickets for the event are available for one of two sessions; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., which are priced at $13, and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., which are priced at $20, all of which are available to be purchased online now, along with beverage tokens used to get your drink on at the event.

If you've been saddled with the designated driver duties for the day, you're in luck: the festival offers discounted $10 for DDs.

Toronto's I Heart Beer and Taco Festival is the second stop on a larger tour which is set to stop in cities across Ontario from February to May, so if you miss the Toronto event (or want to go again), you'll have plenty of chances to swim in a sea of tacos.

Just kidding, they don't have that — but maybe in 2026?
