It's Easter weekend in Toronto and there's not a better time to gorge on chocolate bunnies, easter eggs and other treats. As usual, many creative chocolatiers in Toronto have created a little something special for this season's Easter weekend offerings. Here's a look at some of them.
Famous for intense hot chocolate and a vast catalogue of rich and exotic creations, SOMA in the Distillery breaks the mold this year by fashioning unique yet adorable chocolate rabbit and egg designs.
Rascally Rabbit (top) is made from solid chocolate and is available in either dark Peruvian, Costa Rican milk chocolate, creamy white chocolate or sugar-free dark chocolate.
The Cutest Chocolate Bunny Ever is SOMA's other endearing mascot and looks more like a plush toy. This one is lovingly packaged with its own patch of grass.
SOMA also debuted the "Beautiful Handmade Chocolate Eggs!" that are stunning artisan eggs delicately spray-painted with chocolate nestled on a solid chocolate nest. Hidden Inside each egg are surprises including SOMA treats that have not yet been released. Talk about hidden Easter eggs!
Adam and Eve Chocolate in Church and Maitland are famous for their chocolate truffles.
For this Easter they have an entire range of hand-painted Belgian chocolate eggs, surprise-filled bunnies and their popular Chocolate Sensations, which are addictive bite-sized candies.
Adam and Eve managed to stuff rabbits into eggs and eggs into rabbits and even offer an ostrich-sized 620g chocolate egg.
Speckled Eggs are small half-eggs with a blend of chocolate varieties. More traditional Foil Wrapped Easter eggs are available in white, milk and dark.
