ttc subway closure this weekend

Almost 5 kilometres of TTC subway will shut down for this entire weekend

TTC subway closures this weekend will cut off a significant stretch of the Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) route.

The TTC plans to halt service along Line 2 between Kipling and Jane stations for the full weekend of Saturday, Oct. 10 and Sunday, Oct. 11.

Shuttle buses will replace subway service on the approximately 4.75-kilometre stretch spanning Kipling, Islington, Royal York, Old Mill, and Jane stations, with the closure attributed to "planned infrastructure work" along the route.

All stations affected by the closure will remain open for passengers to purchase/reload fares and connect to surface routes, though the Grenview entrance at Royal York Station will be closed.

The transit agency says regular subway service will resume on Monday, Oct. 12, at 6 a.m.

Riders may notice disruptions along this portion of Line 2 even before the upcoming scheduled closure, with the same stretch of the route ending nightly at 11:59 p.m. from Monday, Oct. 5 to Friday, Oct. 9, due to planned track work.
