Olivia Chow has been re-elected mayor of Toronto.
Chow defeated challenger Brad Bradford in a battle that started neck and neck and ended in a landslide result to secure her first full term in Toronto's top job, despite an early head start from Bradford.
First elected mayor of Toronto in June 2023 in a by-election to replace departing mayor John Tory, Chow's re-election on Monday night, with a whopping 54 per cent of the vote, has secured her first full term.
Chow's over four-decade political career has seen her serve as a school board trustee, Metropolitan Toronto and post-amalgamation city councillor, and Member of Parliament on her way towards her current stint as Toronto mayor.

Chow's main challenger, Brad Bradford, first took a shot at the mayor's seat in the 2023 by-election following John Tory's resignation, placing a distant eighth in a vote ultimately won by Olivia Chow.
Bradford remained a vocal critic of Chow's policies in the years since his 2023 defeat, and with far fewer prominent candidates on the political right in 2026, Bradford emerged as the clear frontrunner among conservative voters. However, despite a unified conservative base, Chow was still able to hold her slight lead in the polls and reclaim her role at City Hall.
