GO Transit closures this weekend will cause headaches for commuters relying on the busy Lakeshore West Line to get in and out of Toronto.
Metrolinx has announced that it will halt service on a large portion of its busiest GO route for the full weekend of Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25, due to planned construction taking place along the busy corridor.
The majority of the line will close for Saturday and Sunday, with no train service from Aldershot GO to Union Station. Trains will remain in service on a portion of the line from Niagara Falls to Aldershot GO.
GO buses will replace trains between West Harbour GO and the Union Station Bus Terminal, though there will be no service at Appleby, Bronte, Port Credit, Long Branch, Mimico or Exhibition GO.

Metrolinx
Metrolinx is advising passengers to take advantage of local transit to navigate around the closure, and has shared detailed instructions on its website for commuters looking for alternate routes.
The outage will overlap with a pair of planned single-day closures on the TTC's Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, which may further complicate travel in and around the region this weekend.
