Costco sends warning emails to Ontario shoppers after product recall

If you recently purchased hair products at Costco in Ontario, you may want to check your bathroom cabinet or shower stand after the retailer issued a new recall.

A May 15 email from Costco Canada warned Ontario shoppers to immediately stop using a specific brand of shampoo and conditioner sold between May 10 and 12.

The 946 mL bottles of the Renpure Tea Tree & Rosemary Scalp Rebalancing Shampoo and Conditioner have been recalled due to "possible elevated microbial levels."Enlarge Product Preview 1

Although there have been no reports of serious illness, the manufacturer, Mav Beauty Canada Inc., is playing it safe by pulling the two products, which they claim may cause mild skin irritation and sensitivity.

Shoppers are encouraged to check the lot code on the bottom of their shampoo and conditioner bottles to see if it matches the lots in question:

  • 2603C065
  • 2604C066

If you have purchased the affected Renpure Tea Tree & Rosemary Scalp Rebalancing Shampoo and Conditioner, Mav Beauty Canada says to stop using them and return the products to any Costco Canada location for a full refund.

Customers can reach out to Costco Canada with questions or concerns.

Other nationwide recalls in recent weeks have included David's Tea and FreezYums! sour candy
