Line 6 Finch West

TTC's Line 6 Finch West is getting a major upgrade this weekend

Service on TTC's new Line 6 Finch West will be extended starting this weekend, giving a much-needed boost for commuters travelling late at night.

Beginning Sunday, March 15, service on the new LRT line will be extended from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., with trains running every six and a half minutes weekday mornings and during afternoon rush hours. Trains will run every 10 minutes at all other times of the day.

Line 6 will operate from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Sundays, and from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. on holidays.

The 18-stop line had its "soft opening" on Dec. 6, 2025, with earlier nightly shutdowns to allow maintenance crews to check systems and fix any issues. The long-awaited opening, however, quickly turned sour with a wave of rider complaints of slow speeds and service delays

Following the problem-plagued opening, Mayor Olivia Chow vowed to improve travel times along the route.

Enhanced signal priority was recently rolled out along the 10.3-kilometre line, with upgrades installed at additional intersections.

With the full service kicking off Sunday, late-night Line 6 shuttle buses will no longer run; however, the transit agency says the overnight 336 Finch West bus schedule will remain on its current schedule.
