Ah, to be young and in college again. How many of us can say we had a great time meeting people whilst learning a subject we're passionate about?
Beyond diplomas and degrees, it seems that higher education can also serve up some long-lasting romantic relationships (FYI, if you're someone currently planning their post-secondary future).
CourseCompare, Canada's marketplace for education, released a rather interesting ranking that looks at which universities are the best for dating and, subsequently, meeting your future partner.
Considering factors like campus density, residence culture, walkability, shared rituals, and alumni network cohesion, the ranking outlined the top ten Canadian universities, of which more than half are located right here in Ontario.
Queen's University in Kingston, Ont., is the top school in the country to find love.
It has "long had a reputation as the place to find a partner," according to the ranking. Its diverse and dense campus boasts plenty of hangout spots and cozy cafes where students can meet, form a connection and eventually build a life together post-graduation.
Western University in London, Ont., is another romantic hot spot, as it takes second place in the ranking.
"You will make friends for life here, and you might even end up sharing a mortgage with one," according to CourseCompare.
Here's a look at the top ten Canadian universities for dating and finding a long-term partner in 2026:
University of Toronto, which often holds top positions on other rankings like best school on the planet and most sustainable school, somehow didn't make the cut. But there's always next year.
