The University of Toronto was just ranked among the top 25 schools in the world by Time Magazine, marking just the latest impressive ranking for the local institution.
Time Magazine released its list of The World's Top Universities of 2026 on Wednesday, and the University of Toronto was again given honours (in yet another ranking) as one of the most sought-after and reputable educational institutions worldwide.
The study ranks universities that are at least three years old, offer bachelor's degree programs, and have enrolled student bodies of 2,000 or more.
U of T managed to outpace four other Canadian universities in Time's ranking, including the University of British Columbia (33), the University of Alberta (73), McMaster University (90), and the University of Calgary (95).
The school was given an overall score of 75.78/100, a 75.22 in an academic capacity & performance metric, and an 80.64 in the innovation and economic impact metric.
However, U of T scored a relatively low 64.49 for global engagement, lagging behind other Canadian institutions like the University of British Columbia (which scored 33rd place overall, not far behind U of T).
It's far from the first time that the University of Toronto has been ranked among the world's top schools, and the institution makes regular appearances on world rankings in various categories.
Here are the top 25 schools in the world for 2026.
