Every few weeks, a new Reddit thread pops up that reminds us, Toronto residents, just how great our city can be. For locals, the city's charm can certainly get buried under all the long commutes we face, rising rents, and constant construction headaches, but all it takes sometimes is a fresh perspective to bring that appeal back into focus.
A recent post from a U.S. tourist visiting from Pennsylvania did just that, and their experience in Toronto was so positive that they felt compelled to share it with the city's Reddit community.
"Hi! I just visited from Pennsylvania and I have to say that this was one of the best trips I have ever taken. Everything about the city was absolutely amazing — from the ease of use of the subway system, to the lovely pocket parks and High Park along the lakefront, to the amazing museums and food," they wrote.
What an amazing city.

"I could go on and on. I just can't stand how completely charming and welcoming your city felt this entire trip, and I look forward to all of my future visits to your beautiful city."
The post, like many other similar ones, quickly gained traction, racking up over 700 upvotes and more than 60 comments from Toronto residents, who flooded the thread with thank-yous, tips, and future travel suggestions.
"Great to hear you enjoyed your trip here! Hope you got to enjoy some of the festivals that we have around the city in the summer," one user wrote.
"Thank you for visiting and sharing this sweet note! It's genuinely my favourite thing on r/Toronto — nice notes from happy guests," another said.
Several residents recommended checking out Toronto again in the fall, and others pointed the visitor towards attractions like the Scarborough Bluffs.
This isn't the first time Toronto has received high praise online from U.S. tourists. Earlier this month, another Reddit post from an American visitor went viral, garnering over 1,000 upvotes. The review highlighted everything from major attractions like the CN Tower, Casa Loma, and Canada's Wonderland, to summer events like Pride, Taste of Little Italy Fest, and Do West Fest.
"Every day felt like an adventure. Whether we were exploring neighborhoods (Koreatown, Greek area, etc.), hitting up an event (St. Lawrence Market drag dance), or just finding a new food spot, it was hard not to fall deeper in love with the city," they wrote.
"Can't wait to go back."
