brampton crash

Ontario driver crashes Tesla into a Pickle Barrel restaurant

The GTA has witnessed some pretty bizarre crashes over the years — including cases where cars plowed into bank branches and nail salons— and this recent one in Brampton is certainly no exception.

Photos reshared across social media on Wednesday show what appears to be a white Tesla that crashed into the Pickle Barrel restaurant at Bramalea City Centre.

Another angle shows the restaurant's exterior heavily damaged, with wooden panels and glass sprawled across the sidewalk.

Peel Regional Police confirmed to blogTO that they were called to the parking lots of the shopping centre for reports of a collision shortly after 12 p.m. on Wednesday.

Upon arrival, police say they found two damaged vehicles parked perpendicular to the parking spot lines east of the restaurant. A third vehicle was also found inside a restaurant wall.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and police are currently investigating the incident to determine what exactly happened.

The restaurant is expected to remain closed for repairs until Monday at the very least.

This is hardly the first time a head-scratching crash has occurred in the GTA in recent years. Last summer, a driver crashed into an LCBO store in Kitchener after losing control of their vehicle, while another one in Brampton crashed through a wall of a TD Canada Trust bank branch the following month.
