2011 Canadian International Air Show

Photos of the 2011 Canadian International Air Show

The 2011 Canadian International Air Show went off without a hitch despite the mostly crappy weather over the course of the Labour Day long weekend. Some complain that annual arrival of fighter jets is an inappropriate celebration of military force and that the planes are just too damn loud, but there's something remarkably captivating about the spectacle of it all whether you're a fan of the show or not. Most of the usual suspects made an appearance this year, including the Snowbirds, the MV-22 Osprey (the one with the huge propellers), the CF-18, and an A-10 piloted by the West Demo team. Also taking to the skies was the U.S. Heavy Metal Jet Team who gave the Snowbirds a run for their money in terms of aerial acrobatics.
