Breathtaking Ontario parkway spanning 11 islands about to open for the season

Spring and summer road trips are ahead, and if you plan to take any in Ontario, make sure this spot is on the list.

The picturesque Long Sault Parkway passes through 11 islands connected by one road, making for some jaw-dropping views.

The Long Sault Parkway is east of Kingston, Ontario, along the St. Lawrence River between Cornwall and Brockville. It opens for the season on April 15.

The announcement was made on Instagram, with Parks of St. Lawrence writing, "Mark your calendars! The Long Sault Parkway opens on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 9 a.m. Kick off spring with one of Ontario's most scenic drives! Stretching 10 km across 11 islands, the Parkway is packed with hidden gems like campgrounds, beaches, and trails — perfect for hiking, biking, fishing, diving, or just soaking in the views."

The parkway hosts more than just beautiful views, it's also home to three waterfront campgrounds and two golden sand beaches.

There are ten campgrounds in total to choose from, and while most of them don't open until mid-May, reservations are open now and usually fill up pretty quickly.

Hop out of the car and explore on foot as this is also a great destination for runners, cyclists and photographers, spanning just over 10 km. As Parks of St. Lawrence describes it, "This is a natural paradise, second to none."

Are you convinced yet? Be sure to pack for an entire day of exploring and enjoying the views, Ontario.

Long Sault Parkway is located at 22 Long Sault Dr., Long Sault, ON, and is open from April 15, 2025, until mid-November.
