Anyone who's ever wanted to hit a ball over the Rogers Centre outfield wall will get a chance this winter. Just not playing the sport you're probably thinking of.
With the Toronto Blue Jays now fully in offseason mode after missing the MLB postseason, the Rogers Centre has been a bit quieter than it was last fall. And with the 2027 season not underway until March, the building will be mostly empty for at least five months.
The Blue Jays organization will get a bit creative to fill that offseason vacancy, transforming the Rogers Centre into a temporary golf driving range. On Wednesday, the stadium announced that golfers will soon be able to drive shots from as high as the stadium's towering 500-level.
"As we continue to unlock new possibilities for the ballpark beyond Blue Jays Baseball, Michelob Ultra Upper Deck Golf offers fans a new way to experience our ballpark in the heart of winter," said Marnie Starkman, EVP of Business Operations, Toronto Blue Jays.
"This unique event reimagines Rogers Centre as a golf destination unlike any other, inviting players of all skill levels and ages to experience one of Canada's most iconic sports and entertainment landmarks like never before."

Upper Deck Golf is bringing this experience to some of the world's most iconic stadiums. Alongside the Rogers Centre, the event will also visit L.A.'s Dodger Stadium, Chicago's Wrigley Field, and Boston's Fenway Park, among other MLB cathedrals.
The experience will come to Toronto from Jan. 20 to 24 and will mark the first time Upper Deck Golf has visited Canada.
"For nearly 10 years, we have been transforming ballparks, and the view from the upper deck never gets old – standing over a tee shot perched high above an MLB field is pure adrenaline," said Marc Bender and Adam Wachter, Managing Partners of Upper Deck Golf.
"Bringing our first Canadian event to Toronto at Rogers Centre is a massive milestone for us, and we could not be more excited."
This will be more than your typical driving range experience. While you'll get a one-of-a-kind view teeing off over the Rogers Centre, golfers will also be challenged to hit greens set up on the field as well in what will be a 90-minute round of nine-hole golf.
The tee boxes will be set up on the 200-level and will work their way up to the 500-level. Groups can also purchase food and drinks before and after their rounds.
Standard tee times will cost $125 per golfer with a two-player minimum at purchase. An exclusive pre-sale window will be available for Blue Jays Season Ticket Members and Quarter Season Ticket Members starting Oct. 26. The experience is available to those aged 12 and up, and golfers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Fans can sign up now for early access to book times, and there will be an opportunity for groups of 50+ golfers to book a private experience.
