Lorenzo Brown feels he deserves an NBA championship ring.
The 36-year-old has spent the past seven seasons playing professionally in Europe after spending parts of four seasons in the NBA between 2013 and 2019.
Brown’s final NBA stint came with the Toronto Raptors. He played 40 games for the team across two seasons, including 26 during their championship-winning campaign in 2018-19.
Brown averaged just 8.9 minutes per game that season before being waived in early January. While he didn't have the biggest role, he was still part of Toronto's roster for a portion of its championship run, but doesn't have a ring to show for it.
"They waived me in [January] that year," Brown said on the Run Your Race podcast. "I was there, bruh. I was there working. I was just there working, man."
Co-host Theo Pinson was surprised by the revelation and turned to the camera to call on the organization to give Brown a ring. The former Raptor clearly agreed.
"C'mon, man. C'mon. Facts. Need it."
Unfortunately for Brown, getting the ring he feels he deserves seems unlikely, as he wasn't the only player to suit up for Toronto that season without receiving one.
Jonas Valanciunas, C.J. Miles and Delon Wright were also left without rings after being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies during the season. All three played considerably larger roles with Toronto than Brown did before the deal.
While Brown may not have a championship ring to commemorate his brief time with the Raptors, he can at least say he was part of the team that went on to win it all.
