Nylander shotguns beer on stage with Blue Jays players at Toronto concert

Some of Toronto's biggest sports stars linked up at last week's Luke Combs concert at Rogers Stadium. 

The country music star belted out the hits during the concert to thousands of excited fans on Saturday night. Among the crowd was Toronto Maple Leafs star William Nylander, alongside Toronto Blue Jays pitchers Kevin Gausman and Patrick Corbin. 

It seemed like the trio was having a fantastic time during the concert, and were even brought up on stage at one point. The sports stars then got the crowd into a frenzy as they shotgunned beer on stage with Combs, Stone Cold Steve Austin-style.

It's the offseason for Nylander, so having a rowdy night is not as big a deal for the Leafs superstar. However, both Gausman and Corbin are in the middle of their season with the Blue Jays and had a game the very next day. 

Corbin wasn't slated to appear in Toronto's Sunday game against the Baltimore Orioles, but Gausman was the projected starter. The veteran did indeed start and proceeded to throw five innings, allowing four earned runs off five hits. 

We did find out whose idea it was to shotgun beer on stage, with Corbin telling reporter Lindsay Dunn on Sunday that it was, fittingly, the hockey player of the group who pitched it. 

"I never was very good at [shotgunning], but I tried," Corbin said with a smile. "It was [William Nylander's] idea to come up with the whole Stone Cold thing at the end. 

"My shirt was soaked. Most of it got on my clothes, didn't really drink much of it. Kinda glad maybe the fans liked it. The guys wanted me to take my shirt off, that's how the beginning of it started, and I didn't really wanna do that."

It's not every day that you go to a country music concert and see three professional athletes shotgun a beer on stage, but Toronto has surprises around every corner.
