Ernie Clement is heading to the World Series for the second straight year, but this time around, the Toronto Blue Jays infielder has a very different role.
Clement will leave his bat and glove at home, as he has landed an on-field media correspondent role to cover the Fall Classic with the MLB Network.
The 30-year-old was named one of three players who will help cover the upcoming World Series between the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays for the league-owned network and its social media team.
Blue Jays fans will be able to catch Clement on MLB Network and its social channels, providing "player-first coverage and perspective" during Games 3 and 4, when the series shifts from Milwaukee to Tampa's Tropicana Field.

The role is a little different than the one the Blue Jays All-Star had during this time last season, when Clement set an MLB postseason record for hits with 30. Twelve of them in the World Series — one shy of the all-time record.
Clement is one of three players taking on the on-field correspondent role during this year's World Series. Boston Red Sox pitcher Payton Tolle and retired Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas will cover Games 1 and 2.
The 2026 World Series kicks off this Friday in Milwaukee.
